Voices behind the game

This isn’t actually hot, but by chance I stumble upon the actor who provided the voice over of Prince Rurik. Maybe you’ve already know this but, I’ve only just found out. anyway, this is the actor. Looks like he’s been busy doing Prince Bokka of Theater, Zhed Shadowhoof, Goren and Tormented Souls as well.

Ms April Stewart is the narrator for the first line you hear in Prophecies “The last day dawns on the Kingdom of Ascalon. It arrives with no fanfare, no tolling of alarms. Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze. People carry on with their daily lives, unaware that in a short while… everything they have ever known will come to an end.  “

Pressure Builds By Adam Sunstrom
A pressure build, as mentioned in my previous article on build making, is one that focuses on winning by simply producing more damage than the enemy can survive in the long run. This is different from a spike build, which attempts to kill players before the enemy Monks can react, and split builds, which take the divide-and-conquer approach.Note that a pressure build can deal its damage in spikes, but that it’s not built to kill a target before Monks can react. Rather pressure builds spike hard enough or often enough that the Monks cannot keep up in terms of Energy or skill recharge over time.

the altar matches will return to the halls of heroes

The Priests of Balthazar have had more than a week to peruse the vast amounts of feedback returned after the Heroes’ Ascent Trial Weekend, and we should expect to see the results soon. Many of the proposed changes will likely return—albeit in altered form—while others that received negative reactions will likely remain shelved. The high level of participation and feedback the event inspired was the very goal of the weekend and, from what I have seen, it seems all would deem the event a great success on that basis.

LATEST PvP PRIMER: CLARIFYING OBSCURE MECHANICS

Across all PvP, certain game mechanics come into play and drive the action of every fight. Many of the elements underlying PvP seem obscure and can cause confusion. In this article, we begin to describe these troublesome mechanics, clarify how the game works, and how this all affects PvP. After this article, we’ll delve into how the stacking of things like “chance to miss” and “chance to block” work in Guild Wars.

Everything you always wanted to know but was afraid to ask like: PvP Application, Recharge and Disabled, Range of Party-Effect Skills, Range of Maintained Enchantments, Spirits, Shadow Stepping, Knockdown Length, Energy Deficit, Ally vs. Party Member

TOURING THE GUILD HALLS

Don’t miss this chance, visit them all to know the maps

Harold J. Chow Said: It has happened to many new guilds—they put some wins under their belt but then, suddenly, bump into strange maps and start taking losses. Not from a lack of skill, necessarily, but perhaps from a lack of knowledge about the unfamiliar terrain or assorted quirks of these maps. Talking to the Canthan Ambassador [Guild Halls] NPC in the Great Temple of Balthazar does help to get a basic orientation for each map, but many map features only become active during an actual Guild Battle. PvP Primer: Templates, Text Strings, and Transfers, Oh My!

Skills Templates brought to you by Guildwars All you have to do is visit the page, click Skills Templates above. Copy the code, one by one, one code for one file, and paste it in a note pad, give it a name you can remember and finally save it in your C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills Or you can download it here. I am not sure if I’ve gotten them all, there are 18 note pad files in the zipped file. But I think it is more fun if you do it yourself. Note: the template will be listed in your game and will be active only if you have all the required skills to use the template. if you do not have the require skills, the template name will show but it is grey-out.

Burried Treasures!!! :)

treasure chests BTreasures

I’ve notice for sometime now that there are burried treasures when you explore an explorable area (believed to once belong to Goren :) who is not allow to use Xunlai Services due to a mysterious rock) haha, pardon my writing skills, anyway, Burried Treasures, so tips is to hold down ctrl (maybe the alt) keys and look around when you are out hunting or farming. they are easily missed, they look like “swamp flowers” in yellow text, up close its a pile of dirt with a shovel on it. So don’t forget to look around for BURRIED TREASURES! ps: both burried treasures i’ve gotten are gold and max near godly mods. :) Apparently these treasures also comes in TREASURE CHESTS. Unfortunately each character only gets to open the Treasure Chests once. but good news is these treasures are mostly max with max mods. So far I’ve open 2 treasures chests, one in Methani Keys, this one is easy low level because it is guarded by low level enemies. The second one in the Fortress in Jahai Bluff, its guarded by a single Immolate Djin, do now let this deceive you into running towards the treasure, as the proximity of the Djin is very close to Admiral Argon, they will come charging at you, around 10+ enemies.
